Drug Library Testing

Drug library testing is the systematic evaluation of many chemical compounds to identify molecules that produce a desired biological effect, making it valuable for linking genetic variation to drug response. In genetics research, libraries are tested against cells, proteins, or engineered models carrying specific mutations, and activity is measured through phenotypic or molecular assays. Researchers then compare responses across genotypes to identify effective compounds, assess selectivity, and uncover pathways influenced by particular genes. This approach supports target validation, drug repurposing, and the development of genotype-informed therapies, while follow-up testing confirms promising hits and clarifies their mechanisms.
