Postoperative Mouse Recovery

Postoperative mouse recovery is the monitored process of helping laboratory mice regain stable physiological function after surgery while minimizing pain, stress, and complications. Recovery depends on effective anesthesia emergence, maintenance of body temperature and hydration, appropriate analgesia, and repeated assessment of behavior, movement, respiration, incision condition, and weight; these measures indicate whether normal function is returning or intervention is needed. In bioengineering research, structured recovery protocols support reliable evaluation of implants, biomaterials, tissue-engineered constructs, and surgical models by distinguishing treatment effects from procedure-related distress. Consistent monitoring also strengthens animal welfare, reproducibility, and interpretation of longitudinal outcomes.

2011

Here we demonstrate the newly developed I•Cryo kit for mouse sperm cryopreservation. Two-cell stage embryo development with frozen-thawed sperm was improved consistently in 5 mouse strains with the use of this kit. Over a 1.5 year period, 49 genetically modified mouse lines were archived by sperm cryopreservation with the I•Cryo kit and later successfully recovered by IVF.

Auricular Point Acupressure Therapy: A Safe and Effective Treatment for Postsurgical Abortion Recovery

2026

This protocol details auricular plaster therapy using Vaccaria seeds on specific acupoints to promote recovery after surgical abortion. As a non-pharmacological adjunct to conventional treatment, it reduces vaginal bleeding duration, alleviates symptoms, and accelerates menstrual cycle restoration, demonstrating both safety and efficacy in clinical application.

Murine Model of Islet Transplantation: A Surgical Method to Infuse Pancreatic Islets in Portal Vein and Prevention of Postoperative Bleeding
