Chlorosis Symptoms

Chlorosis symptoms are visible signs of reduced chlorophyll in plant tissues, typically appearing as yellowing or paling of leaves while the veins may remain green. In biology, chlorosis develops when chlorophyll production or maintenance is disrupted by factors such as nutrient deficiencies, impaired root function, disease, or environmental stress, producing patterns that can help indicate the underlying cause. Recognizing uniform or interveinal chlorosis supports plant health assessment, diagnosis, and experimental studies of mineral nutrition, photosynthesis, and stress physiology. Accurate interpretation can guide corrective treatments and improve understanding of how plants respond to changing conditions.

For most patients, experiencing several weeks of polyuria, polydipsia, fatigue, and significant weight loss may indicate the presence of diabetes. Furthermore, adults displaying the phenotypic appearance of type 2 diabetes (particularly those who are obese and not initially insulin-requiring), may have islet cell autoantibodies, suggesting autoimmune-mediated β cell destruction and a diagnosis of latent autoimmune diabetes of adults (LADA). The categorization of glucose homeostasis is based on...
