Hplc-ec Detection

HPLC-EC detection combines high-performance liquid chromatography with electrochemical measurement to separate and quantify electroactive compounds in complex samples. The chromatographic column resolves components by differences in their interactions with the stationary and mobile phases, while an electrochemical cell detects compounds as they undergo oxidation or reduction at an electrode, producing a current related to their amount. In biology, this method supports sensitive analysis of neurotransmitters, metabolites, drugs, and other redox-active molecules in tissues, cells, and biological fluids. Its separation capability and chemical selectivity help researchers characterize biochemical pathways, monitor cellular signaling, and measure subtle changes in physiology or disease.

High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC)

2023

Source: Dr. Paul Bower - Purdue University High-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) is an important analytical method commonly used to separate and quantify components of liquid samples. In this technique, a solution (first phase) is pumped through a column that contains a packing of small porous particles with a second phase bound to the surface. The different solubilities of the sample components in the two phases cause the components to move through the column with different average...

An Efficient and Rapid HPLC-QQQ-MS Method for the Quantitation of Tropane Alkaloids in Medicinal Plants

2026

This study developed a high-performance liquid chromatography coupled with triple quadrupole mass spectrometry (HPLC-QQQ-MS) method to identify and quantify tropane alkaloids (hyoscyamine, anisodamine, scopolamine) in Anisodus tanguticus. The method proved rapid, accurate, and reliable for high-throughput analysis of medicinal plants.

2009

Lectin-conjugated POROS beads were employed for HPLC. Glycopeptide standards served as positive and negative controls. MARS-14 depleted, trypsin-digested human plasma was chromatographed and flow-through (FT) and bound fractions collected for ESI-LC-MS/MS analyses. Glycopeptides were enriched in the bound fraction as compared to FT.
