Rat Radial Fracture

Rat radial fracture is an experimental model in which the radius of a rat is intentionally broken to study bone injury, repair, and regeneration under controlled conditions. Following injury, inflammation recruits immune and progenitor cells, while vascular changes and tissue formation initiate callus development; subsequent mineralization and remodeling restore bone structure and strength. Researchers use this model to evaluate fracture-healing mechanisms, biomaterials, pharmacological treatments, and regenerative strategies through measures such as imaging, histology, and mechanical testing. Its controlled design helps connect cellular and tissue-level responses with functional recovery, supporting the development of therapies for bone injuries and skeletal disorders.

Development of a Novel Internal Fixation Model for Rat Radial Fractures: Fracture Healing Assessment and Dorsal Root Ganglion Isolation

2026

The study innovatively combines sutures and titanium needles for stable internal fixation in a rat radial fracture model. Fracture healing was assessed via micro-computed tomography (micro-CT), and primary dorsal root ganglion (DRG) neurons were isolated and cultured for further investigation.

A Method for Studying the Temperature Dependence of Dynamic Fracture and Fragmentation

Radial System Protection

2024

Radial systems employ time-delay overcurrent relays to reduce load interruptions. When a fault occurs, the nearest breaker opens first, while upstream breakers remain closed due to longer delay settings. This approach ensures minimal disruption to the rest of the system. In a radial system with a fault downstream of the third breaker, ideally, only the third breaker will open, isolating the fault and interrupting the load connected beyond it. The second breaker has a longer delay setting,...
