Few Shot Evaluation

Few-shot evaluation is a method for assessing a machine-learning model’s performance using a small number of labeled examples, making it useful when benchmark data or annotation resources are limited. In this setting, evaluators provide the model with a few task-specific demonstrations, then measure how accurately it predicts outcomes for new inputs under the same instructions and conditions. Engineers use few-shot evaluation to test adaptability, prompt design, and generalization across tasks such as classification, code generation, and technical question answering. Careful selection of examples and consistent metrics helps reveal strengths, failure modes, and reliability limits that standard large-scale testing may overlook.

2017

Uniformly sized nanoparticles can remove fluctuations in contact hole dimensions patterned in poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) photoresist films by electron beam (E-beam) lithography. The process involves electrostatic funneling to center and deposit nanoparticles in contact holes, followed by photoresist reflow and plasma- and wet-etching steps.

2026

Three-dimensional spheroid culture systems improve upon conventional 2D models for AAV gene therapy development. This methodology enables sensitive detection of AAV transduction at low doses, enhanced physiological relevance, and robust long-term monitoring. The platform supports potency assessment, high-throughput screening, and vector optimization across diverse cell lines and AAV serotypes.

Evaluating the Accuracy of Snap Judgments

2023

Source: Diego Reinero & Jay Van Bavel—New York University Social psychologists have long been interested in the way people form impressions of others. Much of this work has focused on the errors people make in judging others, such as the exaggerated influence of central traits (such as "warm" and "cold"), the insufficient weight given to the context in which others' behavior takes place, and the tendency for people to make judgments that conform to their initial expectations about another.

Evaluation of Commercial-Off-The-Shelf Wrist Wearables to Estimate Stress on Students

A protocol to evaluate solutions based on commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) wrist wearables to estimate stress in students is proposed. The protocol is carried out in two phases, an initial laboratory-based stress induction test, and a monitoring stage taking place in the classroom while the student is performing academic activities.
