Polycarbonate Membrane

A polycarbonate membrane is a thin, durable polymer barrier containing precisely sized pores that allow selective transport of particles, molecules, or fluids. In engineering applications, track-etched membranes are produced by exposing polycarbonate films to high-energy particles, chemically etching the resulting tracks, and controlling pore diameter, density, and thickness to tune permeability and separation performance. Their defined pore structure, mechanical strength, and chemical resistance support particle filtration, microfluidic systems, laboratory sample preparation, and materials research. By linking membrane architecture to flow, retention, and transport behavior, polycarbonate membranes help engineers design reliable separation and sensing technologies.
