Antibody Egfr Interaction

Antibody-EGFR interaction is the binding of an antibody to the epidermal growth factor receptor, a cell-surface protein encoded by the EGFR gene and involved in regulating cell growth, survival, and differentiation. Monoclonal antibodies recognize extracellular regions of EGFR and can block ligand binding, prevent receptor dimerization, or promote receptor internalization, thereby reducing downstream kinase signaling. In genetics and disease research, studying this interaction helps link EGFR mutations, gene amplification, or altered expression to cellular behavior and treatment response. These analyses support biomarker development and the design of targeted therapies for cancers driven by abnormal EGFR signaling.

Mass Photometry to Study Antigen-Antibody Interactions on a Single-Molecule Level

2025

In this video, we demonstrate the use of mass photometry to study antigen-antibody interactions in a flow chamber. The focused light scatters differently based on the mass of the molecules. A detector collects the scattered light and generates the interference pattern as spots of varied intensities, which correlate with the molecular masses.

Butyl-Dependant Hydrophobic Interaction Liquid Chromatography: A Technique to Characterize Antibody-Drug Conjugates Based on Hydrophobic Interactions

Overview Antibodies, also known as immunoglobulins (Ig), are essential players of the adaptive immune system. These antigen-binding proteins are produced by B cells and make up 20 percent of the total blood plasma by weight. In mammals, antibodies fall into five different classes, which each elicits a different biological response upon antigen binding. The Y-Shaped Structure of Antibodies Consists of Four Polypeptide Chains Antibodies consist of four polypeptide chains: two identical heavy...
