Apc Min/+ Mice

Apc Min/+ mice are genetically engineered laboratory models that carry a heterozygous mutation in the adenomatous polyposis coli (Apc) tumor-suppressor gene, leading to spontaneous intestinal tumor development. The mutation disrupts Apc-mediated regulation of β-catenin and Wnt signaling, promoting abnormal epithelial-cell proliferation and polyp formation, particularly when additional genetic or environmental changes occur. In immunology and infection research, these mice help investigators examine how immune responses, inflammation, the gut microbiota, and infectious or microbial exposures influence tumor initiation and progression. Their defined genetic susceptibility also supports evaluation of cancer-prevention strategies and interactions between intestinal disease, host immunity, and tissue homeostasis.

The prevalence of diabetes and obesity is continuously increasing worldwide. The mechanisms between diabetes, obesity and their associated mortality and co-morbidities need to be further investigated. Here, we present a protocol for sleeve gastrectomy (SG) in animals as an uncomplicated preclinical model of bariatric surgery.

The mouse small bowel transplantation model has been recognized as an important tool to study mechanismes of immune rejection and screen new immunosuppressive drugs. However, this model is limited to use because the techniques involved is an extremely technically challenge. Now we introduce the modified technique.
