Treatment Response Evaluation

Treatment response evaluation is the systematic assessment of how a patient’s disease, symptoms, function, or biomarkers change after an intervention, helping clinicians determine whether care is effective and appropriate. It combines baseline measurements with follow-up examinations, laboratory tests, imaging, patient-reported outcomes, or other clinical indicators, then interprets changes against predefined response criteria while considering timing, adherence, adverse effects, and disease variability. In medicine, this process supports decisions to continue, adjust, or discontinue treatment and helps distinguish therapeutic benefit from disease progression or treatment-related harm. Standardized evaluation also strengthens clinical research by enabling consistent comparisons among therapies and identifying factors associated with better outcomes.

Receptor tyrosine kinases are ectopically expressed in many cancers and have been identified as therapeutic targets in acute leukemia. This manuscript describes an efficient strategy for pre-clinical evaluation of tyrosine kinase inhibitors for the treatment of acute leukemia.

An Assay to Evaluate Immunodominance in Cytotoxic T Lymphocyte Responses

2025

The video showcases a flow cytometry-based assay for assaying immunodominance in cytotoxic T lymphocytes or CTL responses. Injected fluorescent target cells exhibit varying fluorescence corresponding to immunogenic epitopes. Post-spleen collection and sorting reveal a reduction in high-intensity fluorescent cells, confirming immunodominance in CTL responses.
