Total Rhoc Measurement

Total RhoC measurement is the quantitative assessment of the cellular abundance of RhoC, a small GTPase that regulates actin-cytoskeleton organization, cell shape, and motility. In a typical protein assay, cells or tissues are lysed, RhoC is captured or detected with a specific antibody, and the resulting signal is normalized to a loading control or total protein measurement; this reports overall RhoC levels rather than its active, GTP-bound fraction. Measuring total RhoC helps distinguish changes in protein expression from changes in signaling activity and supports studies of cytoskeletal regulation, migration, invasion, and disease-associated cellular behavior.

Total Fixed, Total Variable, and Total Cost Curves

2024

In the short run, a firm incurs various fixed expenses such as lease payments, insurance premiums, and machinery depreciation. Collectively, these are known as the total fixed cost (TFC) of production. Graphically, TFC is depicted by a straight line parallel to the x-axis, with cost on the vertical axis and the quantity of output on the horizontal axis. Variable costs include expenses that change with the output level, such as materials used and wages of workers paid hourly. Collectively, these...

Reverse total shoulder arthroplasty is indicated for the treatment of conditions that cannot be treated with conventional arthroplasty or other procedures. These primarily include degenerative and incapacitating conditions with irreparable rotator cuff and loss of the normal biomechanical coupling of the shoulder.

Turbidity and Total Solids in Surface Water

2023

Source: Laboratories of Margaret Workman and Kimberly Frye - Depaul University Turbidity and total solids are related measurements addressing clarity of surface waters. Turbidity is an indirect measure of water clarity that determines the amount of light that can pass through the water. Total solids is a direct measurement of solid particles suspended in water determined by weight. High levels of turbidity and total solids are caused by soil erosion, waste discharge, runoff, or changes in...
