Guided Culture

Guided culture is a structured microbiological method that directs the growth and recovery of selected microorganisms under controlled laboratory conditions, helping researchers study infectious agents that may be difficult to detect in mixed samples. It works by combining targeted sample preparation with appropriate culture media, incubation temperature, atmospheric conditions, and selective or differential signals to favor the organism of interest and distinguish it from contaminants. In immunology and infection research, guided culture supports pathogen isolation, characterization of host–microbe interactions, and evaluation of antimicrobial responses. By linking controlled cultivation with immune and infectious disease models, it improves reproducibility and strengthens interpretation of experimental results.

Explant Culture of Neural Tissue

2023

The intricate structure of the vertebrate nervous system arises from a complex series of events involving cell differentiation, cell migration, and changes in cell morphology. Studying these processes is essential to our understanding of nervous system function as well as our ability to diagnose and treat disorders that result from abnormal development. However, neural tissues are relatively inaccessible for experimental manipulations, especially in embryonic mammals. As a result, many...
