Echocardiogram Follow-up

Echocardiogram follow-up is the planned repetition of cardiac ultrasound examinations to monitor changes in heart structure and function over time, supporting ongoing clinical assessment. During the study, high-frequency sound waves create images of the heart, while Doppler techniques evaluate blood-flow direction and velocity; comparing current findings with earlier scans can reveal progression, stability, or response to treatment. In medicine, follow-up echocardiograms help assess ventricular performance, valve abnormalities, fluid around the heart, and other conditions that may evolve after diagnosis or intervention. The results can guide treatment decisions, risk assessment, and timing of additional evaluation.

2024

Positioning behind the market leader offers distinct competitive advantages for firms. The market-follower strategy enables companies to avoid the substantial costs associated with product innovation, allowing them to refine existing market approaches with lower financial risk. By closely observing the leader's actions, these firms can enhance their product offerings, improve customer service, and optimize production efficiency without needing to outpace the leader. Instead, they can achieve...

We describe a method for the detection of tumor nodule development in the lungs of an adenocarcinoma mouse model using micro-computed tomography and its use for monitoring changes in nodule size over time and in response to treatment. The accuracy of the assessment was confirmed with end-point histological quantification.

Flow Cytometry to Estimate Leukemia Stem Cells in Primary Acute Myeloid Leukemia and in Patient-derived-xenografts, at Diagnosis and Follow Up

We outline a protocol to detect simultaneous expression of leukemia stem cell markers on primary acute myeloid leukemia cells by flow cytometry. We show how to quantify three progenitor populations and a putative LSC population with increasing degree of maturation. We confirmed the presence of these populations in corresponding patient-derived-xenografts.
