Cmt167 Lung Carcinoma

CMT167 lung carcinoma is a murine lung adenocarcinoma cell model used to investigate how malignant cells grow, adapt, and interact with surrounding tissues. When introduced into compatible experimental mice, CMT167 cells form tumors through sustained proliferation, tissue invasion, and communication with stromal and immune cells in the tumor microenvironment. This model supports studies of lung cancer biology, including tumor progression, immune regulation, metastasis, and responses to anticancer treatments. Because it can be examined in an immunocompetent setting, CMT167 research helps connect cellular mechanisms with whole-organism outcomes and informs the development of experimental therapies.

3-Dimensional Culture of Lung Carcinoma Cells: A Method To Study Cell-Matrix Interactions

2023

This video describes the technique of 3-D culture of lung carcinoma cells to study the cell-matrix interactions. In the protocol, we will perform the 3D culture of TUM622 lung carcinoma cells to explore its potential of forming organoids in vitro.

An in vitro model system was developed to capture tissue architectural changes during lung squamous carcinoma (LUSC) progression in a 3-dimensional (3D) co-culture with cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs). This organoid system provides a unique platform to investigate the roles of diverse tumor cell-intrinsic and extrinsic changes that modulate the tumor phenotype.

The metastatic spread of cancer is the major cause of cancer-related deaths. We provide an in-depth description of our survival surgery methodology for establishing a “patient-like” orthotopic syngeneic mouse model system for studying the mechanisms of metastasis in solid organ tumors.

Models of spontaneous metastatic renal cell carcinoma (RCC) disease progression can be used for evaluating treatments in a clinically relevant setting. This protocol demonstrates different procedures for orthotopic kidney tumor cell implantation, proper nephrectomy, and finally outlines a necropsy guide for visual and bioluminescent scoring of metastatic burden and localization.
