Rna Capture Assay

An RNA capture assay is a targeted molecular technique that isolates specific RNA molecules from a complex biological sample, enabling focused analysis of gene expression or RNA sequence. In a typical workflow, complementary oligonucleotide probes hybridize to selected RNA transcripts, and the resulting RNA-probe complexes are recovered using affinity tags, such as biotin, and streptavidin-coated magnetic beads before washing and elution. The enriched material can then be measured by quantitative methods or analyzed through sequencing to detect transcript abundance, sequence variation, or low-level RNA species. This approach supports studies of regulatory RNAs, disease-associated transcripts, pathogen detection, and transcriptome profiling.
