Same-day Results

Same-day results are diagnostic findings reported on the day a clinical or research sample is collected, allowing infection and immune responses to be assessed without extended laboratory delays. In immunology and infection studies, rapid assays can detect pathogen nucleic acids, antigens, or host antibodies and inflammatory markers directly from specimens, using streamlined preparation and accelerated detection workflows. These results support prompt decisions about confirmatory testing, treatment, isolation, and patient monitoring while helping researchers evaluate changing immune responses during infection. Rapid reporting can also improve outbreak response and clinical trial workflows, although interpretation still depends on assay performance, specimen quality, and the timing of testing.

2009

This video shows a procedure for isolating intact protoplasts from tissues of 14-day-old seedlings of Arabidopsis. Given that the isolated protoplasts remain intact for at least 96h and are isolated from seedlings instead of one-month-old mature plants, this procedure expedites assays requiring intact protoplasts.
