Decellularized Aneurysm

Decellularized aneurysm refers to aneurysmal vascular tissue processed to remove resident cells while retaining the extracellular matrix architecture that gives the vessel wall its structural properties. This approach typically uses chemical or enzymatic treatments that disrupt cell membranes and nucleic acids, followed by washing, while aiming to preserve matrix components and geometry. In neuroscience and cerebrovascular research, the resulting scaffold can provide a biologically relevant platform for studying aneurysm structure, remodeling, and interactions with implanted materials or regenerated cells. Its value lies in linking native vessel-wall organization to disease modeling and the development of more physiologically representative approaches to cerebral aneurysm research.

Perfusion decellularization is a novel technique to produce whole liver scaffolds that retains the organ's extracellular matrix composition and microarchitecture. Herein, the method of preparing whole organ scaffolds using perfusion decellularization and subsequent repopulation with hepatocytes is described. Functional and transplantable liver grafts can be generated using this technique.

Cardiopulmonary Complex Decellularization: A Technique for Decellularizing Heart and Lungs from Murine Model

Histological and biochemical modifications after aneurysm endograft exclusion are still unclear. We describe a new model of endograft implantation on a murine aneurysm. Through thrombus analysis with and without persistant circulating blood stream interface, and new endovascular biomaterials evaluation, this model will help to better understand endovascular aneurysm exclusion pathobiology.
