Controleer het resectiedefect grondig op actieve bloedingen of zichtbare bloedvaten. Behandel eventuele bloedpunten of risicovolle vaten met eenmalige elektrochirurgische hemostatische tang om vertraagde bloedingen te voorkomen. Om het defect te sluiten, aspireer eerst matig intragastrisch gas om de defectranden te benaderen en de weefselopening voor het knippen te verkleinen.
Klem de slijmvliesrand aan de proximale zijde van het defect met één kaak van de clip. Haak vervolgens de distale slijmvliesrand met de tegenovergestelde kaak. Sluit de clip terwijl je continu zuigt.
Breng vervolgens clips sequentieel aan om de mucosale randen te benaderen totdat het hele defect volledig is geïnjecteerd. Er werden geen statistisch significante verschillen gevonden in de meeste basislijn-demografische en klinische variabelen tussen de verbeterde groep en de conventionele groep. De verbeterde groep had een aanzienlijk kortere gemiddelde operationele tijd vergeleken met de conventionele groep.
In geen van beide groepen traden er ernstige postoperatieve complicaties op, zoals perforatie, abdominale abces, koorts of hevige buikpijn. De incidentie van grote complicaties was 0% in beide groepen, en er werd geen statistisch significant verschil gevonden.
