Dna Molecule Imaging

DNA molecule imaging is the visualization of DNA structure, organization, and behavior using optical or nanoscale imaging methods, providing direct insight into genetic material that is otherwise invisible. In bioengineering, researchers commonly attach fluorescent probes or labels to specific DNA sequences and detect their position, movement, or interactions with microscopy, while controlling sample preparation and imaging conditions to preserve molecular information. These approaches support genome mapping, gene regulation studies, DNA-based diagnostics, and the design of engineered biomolecular systems. By connecting molecular structure with function, DNA imaging helps clarify how genetic information is organized and enables more precise tools for biotechnology and biomedical research.

2025

This video describes a method to visualize the assembly of fusion protein condensates on DNA molecules at specific loci using single-molecule imaging. These condensates are formed due to LCD-LCD and LCD-DBD interactions, which allow for the recruitment of RNA polymerase II and enhanced gene transcription.
