Glioma-infiltrating Pbmcs

Glioma-infiltrating PBMCs are peripheral blood mononuclear cells, primarily lymphocytes and monocytes, that migrate into glioma tissue and participate in the tumor’s immune microenvironment. Their recruitment depends on interactions between circulating immune cells, tumor- and stromal-cell signals, adhesion molecules, and chemokines that support movement across the blood-brain barrier and into the tumor. Characterizing these infiltrating populations with tissue isolation, flow cytometry, or functional assays helps reveal immune suppression, inflammation, and antitumor responses in glioma. These analyses support biomarker discovery, evaluation of immunotherapies, and development of strategies to improve immune-cell activity within brain tumors.
