Single Limb Support

Single limb support is the phase of walking in which one lower extremity bears the body’s weight while the opposite limb advances, making it essential for balance, forward progression, and efficient gait. During this interval, coordinated control of the stance limb’s hip, knee, and ankle stabilizes the pelvis and manages the body’s center of mass as it moves over the supporting foot. In medicine, assessing single limb support helps clinicians analyze gait, identify weakness or impaired balance, and evaluate conditions affecting the musculoskeletal or nervous systems. It also guides rehabilitation, assistive-device selection, and measurement of recovery after injury or surgery.

Self-help support groups are voluntary, community-based organizations that provide a platform for individuals with shared concerns to exchange support, insights, and practical strategies for coping with life challenges. Typically led by group members or paraprofessionals, these groups form a cornerstone of mental health care, especially in reaching populations that are underserved by traditional healthcare systems. Accessibility and Cost-Effectiveness One of the primary strengths of self-help...

Sample preparation for cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM) is a significant bottleneck in the structure determination workflow of this method. Here, we provide detailed methods for using an easy-to-use, three-dimensionally printed block for the preparation of support films to stabilize samples for transmission EM studies.
