Cdna Library Preparation

cDNA library preparation is a molecular biology method that converts messenger RNA into a representative collection of complementary DNA (cDNA) molecules, preserving information about genes expressed in a biological sample. The process typically isolates and enriches RNA, uses reverse transcriptase to synthesize cDNA from mRNA templates, and adds adapters or amplification steps to support cloning or sequencing. Because cDNA libraries exclude most introns and reflect transcript abundance, they enable gene expression profiling, transcriptome analysis, and identification of coding sequences. In biology research, carefully prepared libraries help compare cellular responses, characterize developmental or disease-related expression patterns, and support high-throughput RNA sequencing.
