Sample Cell Assembly

Sample cell assembly is the process of preparing and fitting the components of a chamber that holds a biological sample for controlled analysis, making it essential for reliable measurements. The procedure typically involves placing the sample between compatible surfaces, aligning the cell within the instrument’s measurement path, and securing seals or holders to prevent leakage, contamination, or changes in sample volume. Proper assembly supports consistent optical or analytical conditions and helps preserve sample integrity during measurement. In biology, well-assembled sample cells contribute to reproducible observations in studies of biomolecules, cells, and other biological materials.

Protein Complex Assembly

2020

Proteins can form homomeric complexes with another unit of the same protein or heteromeric complexes with different types. Most protein complexes self-assemble spontaneously via ordered pathways, while some proteins need assembly factors that guide their proper assembly. Despite the crowded intracellular environment, proteins usually interact with their correct partners and form functional complexes. Many viruses self-assemble into a fully functional unit using the infected host cell to...

2008

Nuclear membrane assembly is an essential step in the cell division cycle; this process can be replicated in the test tube by combining Xenopus sperm chromatin, cytosol, and light membrane fractions. Complete nuclei are formed, including nuclear membranes with pore complexes, and these reconstituted nuclei are capable of normal nuclear processes.
