Aneuploidy Assessment

Aneuploidy assessment is the evaluation of chromosome number to identify cells or embryos with gains or losses of individual chromosomes, a key concern in development and reproductive biology. It works by measuring chromosome copy number through approaches such as karyotyping, fluorescence in situ hybridization, or DNA sequencing, which detect abnormalities arising from chromosome-segregation errors during meiosis or mitosis. In developmental biology, these assessments help characterize how aneuploidy affects fertilization, embryo viability, implantation, and early tissue formation. They also support research on chromosome stability, developmental disorders, and the accuracy of embryo or cell models used in laboratory studies.

Here, we present a protocol for specific siRNA-mediated mRNA depletion followed by immunofluorescence analysis to evaluate meiotic spindle assembly and organization in mouse oocytes. This protocol is suitable for in vitro depletion of transcripts and functional assessment of different spindle and/or MTOC-associated factors in oocytes.

Here, we present a comprehensive behavioral test battery, including the novel tank, Shoaling, and social preference tests, to effectively determine the potential neurotoxic effects of chemicals (e.g., methamphetamine and glyphosate) on adult zebrafish using a single tank. This method is relevant to neurotoxicity and environmental research.
