Neural Mobilization

Neural mobilization is a manual therapy technique that assesses and modifies the mechanical and physiological function of peripheral nerves, making it relevant to musculoskeletal medicine and rehabilitation. It uses carefully sequenced movements of the spine and limbs to produce neural gliding or controlled tension, while clinicians adjust range, speed, and loading according to symptoms and tissue response. Applied through techniques such as nerve glides and tensioners, neural mobilization can help evaluate mechanosensitivity and address movement-related pain or restricted mobility associated with nerve and surrounding tissue dysfunction. Its clinical value depends on appropriate patient selection, precise technique, and ongoing symptom monitoring.

2023

The electrophoretic mobility shift assay (EMSA) is a biochemical procedure used to elucidate binding between proteins and nucleic acids. In this assay a radiolabeled nucleic acid and test protein are mixed. Binding is determined via gel electrophoresis which separates components based on mass, charge, and conformation. This video shows the concepts of EMSA and a general procedure, including gel and protein preparation, binding, electrophoresis, and detection. Applications covered in this video...

Neural stem cells (NSCs) refer to cells which can self-renew and differentiate into the three neural lineages. Here, we describe a protocol to determine NSC frequency in a given cell population using neurosphere formation and differentiation under clonal conditions.

Mobile Marketing

2024

As consumers increasingly rely on smartphones and other mobile devices for browsing, communication, and shopping, mobile marketing has become essential in today's digital world. Brands must adjust their strategies to engage users where they spend most of their time, which is on mobile screens. Understanding mobile user behavior is crucial for successful mobile marketing. Mobile users typically interact with their devices briefly and frequently throughout the day. They prefer content that is...

Using a Cyclic Ion Mobility Spectrometer for Tandem Ion Mobility Experiments

Ion mobility spectrometry (IMS) is an interesting complement to mass spectrometry for the characterization of biomolecules, notably because it is sensitive to isomerism. This protocol describes a tandem IMS (IMS/IMS) experiment, which allows the isolation of a molecule and the generation of the mobility profiles of its fragments.

Neural Activity Propagation in an Unfolded Hippocampal Preparation with a Penetrating Micro-electrode Array

We have developed an in vitro unfolded hippocampus which preserves CA1-CA3 array of neurons. Combined with the penetrating micro-electrode array, neural activity can be monitored in both the longitudinal and transverse orientations. This method provides advantages over hippocampal slice preparations as the propagation in the entire hippocampus can be recorded simultaneously.
