This study investigates the dynamics of prion-like proteins in transgenic nematodes using confocal microscopy. The proteins are tagged with a red fluorescent marker, allowing for real-time imaging of their transport within muscle cells.
Time-lapse confocal imaging of prion-like protein dynamics in transgenic nematodes provides a quantitative, live-animal platform for interrogating protein aggregation and intercellular spreading relevant to neurodegenerative disease mechanisms. This approach enables early-stage mechanistic de-risking and supports predictive confidence in target validation for protein misfolding disorders. The method offers translational continuity from discovery biology to preclinical model development in neurodegeneration pipelines.
This imaging workflow integrates into the discovery-to-preclinical continuum by enabling hypothesis testing, mechanistic clarification, and quantitative assessment of protein aggregation in a genetically tractable model.
