Cholangiocarcinoma Analysis

Cholangiocarcinoma analysis is the systematic evaluation of bile duct cancer to determine its origin, biological characteristics, extent, and clinical behavior. It combines imaging, histopathology, immunohistochemistry, and molecular profiling to identify malignant biliary cells, classify tumors, and detect genomic alterations that influence signaling, growth, and treatment response. In cancer research, these analyses help distinguish intrahepatic, perihilar, and distal disease while clarifying differences in tumor microenvironment and progression. The resulting data support diagnosis, staging, prognosis, biomarker discovery, and selection of targeted or immune-based therapies, advancing precise models of cholangiocarcinoma and informing future clinical studies.

2026

The protocol presents a step-by-step laparoscopic protocol for radical resection of Bismuth-Corlette type IIIb perihilar cholangiocarcinoma. The procedure integrates preoperative PTCD, complex vascular dissection and repair, and biliary reconstruction for application in high-volume hepatobiliary centers.

Complete Laparoscopic Radical Resection of Perihilar Cholangiocarcinoma Type IIIb

2025

Perihilar cholangiocarcinoma (pCCA) is a highly malignant and aggressive tumor, with radical resection being the only curative treatment available. With continuous advancements in laparoscopic techniques and instruments, laparoscopic radical surgery for pCCA is now considered technically safe and feasible. However, due to the high complexity of the surgery and the lack of evidence-based clinical support, laparoscopic radical surgery for type IIIb pCCA is performed only in a few large...

2022

Salmonella invades and replicates inside intestinal epithelial cells both in Salmonella-specific vacuoles and free in the cytosol (hyper-replication). A high-throughput fluorescence microscopy-based protocol is described here to quantify the intracellular phenotypes of Salmonella by two complementary image analyses through ImageJ, reaching single-cell resolution and scoring.
