Tumor Cell Delivery

Tumor cell delivery refers to the targeted transport of therapeutic, imaging, or genetic cargo into cancer cells, a central challenge in developing effective cancer treatments. Delivery systems use tumor-associated markers, vascular access, and cellular uptake pathways to concentrate cargo at tumor sites and promote internalization while limiting exposure to healthy tissue; approaches may include antibodies, nanoparticles, viral vectors, and engineered cells. In cancer research, these strategies can improve drug localization, enable molecular manipulation, and carry diagnostic signals, although delivery efficiency, tumor heterogeneity, tissue penetration, and off-target effects remain important design considerations.

2025

This video demonstrates the intranasal delivery of oncolytic virus loaded therapeutic neural stem cells into a brain-tumor bearing mouse model. The non-invasive intranasal administration of stem cells bypasses the blood brain barrier, facilitating their delivery to the tumor site in the brain for therapeutic applications.

2023

This video describes the technique of pretargeted radioimmunotherapy or PRIT, in which immunoconjugates followed by radioligands are administered for treating tumors. This radioimmunotherapy reduces radiation doses to healthy tissues and utilizes radionuclides with very low half-lives incompatible with antibody-based vectors.
