Repeated Exposure Test

A repeated exposure test evaluates how a person or biological system responds when exposed to a substance multiple times over a defined period, making it important for assessing cumulative effects and longer-term safety. Unlike a single-exposure assessment, it uses controlled dosing or contact schedules while monitoring changes in clinical signs, laboratory measurements, and other health indicators; this can reveal dose-related effects, delayed responses, or altered sensitivity. In clinical research, repeated exposure testing supports evaluation of medication tolerability, environmental or occupational hazards, and potential toxicity. Its findings help characterize risk, guide exposure limits, and inform safer treatment and study designs.

The aim of this protocol is to expose human organotypic 3D bronchial and nasal tissue models to mainstream cigarette smoke (CS) at the air-liquid interface. The impact of CS on the tissues is then investigated using a cytochrome P450 activity assay, a cilia beating measurement, and a systems biology approach.

A whole-body nanoparticle aerosol inhalation exposure facility was constructed for nano-sized titanium dioxide (TiO2) inhalation toxicology studies. This system provides nano-TiO2 aerosol test atmospheres that have: 1) a steady mass concentration; 2) a homogenous composition free of contaminants; and 3) a stable particle size distribution during aerosol generation.

2025

An infinitely repeated game is a scenario where players repeatedly engage in the same game without a predetermined end. This concept is crucial in understanding long-term interactions in various fields of the social sciences, including economics and international relations. Examples: Firms Setting Prices: Companies continuously adjust prices. Trade Negotiations: Countries consistently negotiate trade terms. Tit-for-Tat Strategy Cooperative Start: Players begin with a cooperative action,...
