バクテリアの形質転換は、外来DNAをバクテリア内に導入する手法であり、その後増幅又は複製が可能となります。DNAを容易に取り込むことができる細胞をコンピテントセルと呼びます。多くのバクテリアにとって形質転換は自然現象なのですが、バクテリアを刺激することで、形質転換を人為的に誘発する手法が発見され研究に利用されています。このビデオでは、形質転換法の一つ、ヒートショック法を紹介していきます。
