バクテリアの形質転換は自然界で起こっており、バクテリアが外来DNAを導入する現象のことです。さらにその後増幅又は複製を行います。研究では、高圧の電気パルスを利用し、バクテリアの細胞膜に穴を空け人為的に形質転換を誘発します。この穴を通ってプラスミドDNAが細胞内に取り込まれます。この手法はエレクトロポレーション法と呼ばれ、これからその原理、各工程、応用例を紹介していきます。
