Noninvasive brain stimulation (NIBS) techniques, such as transcranial electrical stimulation (TES), transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), and transcranial ultrasound stimulation (TUS), are emerging as valuable tools in neuroscience and clinical practice. This growing recognition is largely due to their relative safety, ease of application, and cost-effectiveness, making them more accessible for research and clinical use. While some NIBS techniques are already widely used in psychiatric treatments, these approaches also show increasing potential for neurological rehabilitation (e.g., stroke recovery) by modulating neuroplasticity.
This collection aims to standardize and advance NIBS methodologies by showcasing protocols for basic research in animal and human models, therapeutic applications, and multimodal integrations (e.g., combined with EEG, fMRI, or pharmacological interventions). By promoting reproducibility and collaboration, we facilitate the efficient transfer of NIBS techniques across research and clinical communities.
