Hypoxia

Hypoxie ist eine Erkrankung, bei der das Körpergewebe nicht ausreichend mit Sauerstoff versorgt wird. Es kann in vier verschiedene Typen eingeteilt werden.
Anämische Hypoxie tritt aufgrund eines Mangels an Erythrozyten auf oder wenn Erythrozyten abnormales oder zu wenig Hämoglobin enthalten, was zu einer schlechten Sauerstoffversorgung führt.
Ischämische Hypoxie resultiert aus einer gestörten oder blockierten Durchblutung des Gewebes, die eine effiziente Sauerstoffzufuhr verhindert.
Bei histotoxischer Hypoxie können die Zellen den zugeführten Sauerstoff aufgrund von Toxinen wie Cyanid nicht effizient verwerten.
Schließlich ist die hypoxämische Hypoxie durch einen niedrigen Sauerstoffpartialdruck im arteriellen Blut gekennzeichnet, wobei mögliche Ursachen Lungenerkrankungen und Atemluft mit niedrigem Sauerstoffgehalt sind.
Ein Sonderfall der hypoxämischen Hypoxie ist eine Kohlenmonoxid- oder CO-Vergiftung.
Beim Einatmen bindet CO mit größerer Affinität als Sauerstoff an Hämoglobin, verdrängt Sauerstoff von seinen Bindungsstellen und reduziert den Sauerstoffpartialdruck im arteriellen Blut.
Eine Hypoxie macht sich durch eine bläuliche Verfärbung der Haut und der Schleimhäute bemerkbar, die vor allem in den Nagelbetten sichtbar ist.

Hypoxie ist ein medizinischer Zustand, der durch eine unzureichende Sauerstoffversorgung des Körpergewebes gekennzeichnet ist. Sie äußert sich typischerweise als bläuliche Verfärbung der Haut und der Schleimhäute, insbesondere bei hellhäutigen Personen, wenn die Hämoglobin-Sättigung (Hb) unter 75 % fällt.

Arten von Hypoxie

Es gibt vier Haupttypen von Hypoxie, die jeweils unterschiedliche Ursachen haben:

	<li>Hypoxämische Hypoxie: Gekennzeichnet durch einen reduzierten arteriellen pO_2-Wert; kann durch eine gestörte Kopplung von Ventilation und Perfusion, durch Lungenerkrankungen, die die Ventilation beeinträchtigen, oder durch das Einatmen von Luft mit niedrigem Sauerstoffgehalt entstehen.</li>

Kohlenmonoxidvergiftung

Eine bestimmte Art hypoxämischer Hypoxie, die Kohlenmonoxidvergiftung, ist eine der häufigsten Todesursachen bei Bränden. Kohlenmonoxid (CO), ein geruch- und farbloses Gas, bindet sich mehr als 200-mal stärker an Hämoglobin als Sauerstoff und verringert die Sauerstofftransportfähigkeit von Hämoglobin erheblich. Selbst kleinste Mengen von CO können eine schwere Hypoxie verursachen. Die Behandlung einer CO-Vergiftung erfolgt mit 100 % Sauerstoff bei normalem atmosphärischem Druck oder in Sauerstoffüberdruckkammern, die dem Patienten einen höheren Sauerstoffgehalt als normal zuführen und so das CO aus dem Hämoglobin verdrängen. Diese Methode bietet eine lebensrettende Lösung für ein ansonsten tödliches Problem.

Hypoxia is a medical condition in which body tissues do not get enough oxygen. It can cause a bluish color in the skin and mucosae, especially in fair-skinned people. This sign is often seen when hemoglobin (Hb) saturation drops below 75%.

Hypoxia can happen for several different reasons. Anemic hypoxia occurs when there are too few red blood cells (RBCs) or when RBCs have abnormal or too little Hb. Ischemic hypoxia comes from poor blood circulation or blocked blood flow, so blood becomes stagnant.

Another form is histotoxic hypoxia. In this case, body cells cannot use the oxygen that is available. Metabolic poisons such as cyanide can cause this problem. Hypoxemic hypoxia is different because it involves reduced arterial pO2, which can result from abnormal ventilation-perfusion coupling, pulmonary disease that affects ventilation, or breathing air with low oxygen content.

Carbon monoxide poisoning is a special form of hypoxemic hypoxia and is a leading cause of death from fires. Carbon monoxide (CO) is odorless and colorless. It binds to Hb more than 200 times more strongly than oxygen, so even small amounts can sharply reduce Hb's ability to carry oxygen. Treatment includes 100% oxygen at normal atmospheric pressure or oxygen in hyperbaric chambers, which helps displace CO from Hb and can save a life.

Content elaboration: The digestive system consists of the gastrointestinal tract (alimentary canal) as well as various accessory organs including the teeth, tongue, salivary glands, liver, gallbladder and pancreas. The digestive system processes and supplies the molecules needed to sustain the living tissues within the body through the absorption of nutrients. Six major functions of the digestive system include secretion, ingestion, mechanical processing, enzymatic digestion, absorption and excretion. The lining of the digestive system protects surrounding tissues from the mechanical and enzymatic stresses of the digestive process. Processes of the digestive system include the mechanical and chemical breakdown of food into small molecules which are then absorbed by the digestive tract. Specific actions within the digestive system include mastication, peristalsis, segmentation and the release of hormones and enzymes necessary for digestion. The metabolic functions of the accessory organs play strategic roles in the breakdown of food products, the maintenance of glucose levels within the blood and the regulation of homeostasis in the body. Indigestible material is excreted as waste. Homeostatic imbalances are explored. These include, but are not limited to, conditions such as gallstones, heartburn, ulcers, dehydration, diarrhea, cirrhosis and cancers of the digestive system. Investigations are used to understand and explain the digestive system in a variety of inquiry and design scenarios that can incorporate evolutionary concepts, scientific reasoning, comparative analysis, communication skills and real-world applications.
