André Dagenais is the coordinator of the Quebec Respiratory Health Research Network. He obtained is BSc at Université de Montréal and his PhD under the supervision of Dr René Simard at Institut du Cancer de Montréal.

Early in his career Dr Dagenais developed an interest for cell biology, cytoskeleton and cell physiology. After cloning the promoter of the mouse alpha subunit of the Epithelial Na channel (ENaC) in Dr Rashmi Kothary’s lab he worked as an associate investigator in Dr Yves Berthiaume’s lab from 1994 to 2018. Hi research interest was to understand how stress and pro-inflammatory conditions downregulate ENaC expression and function in the alveolar epithelial cells.
