Like every company party ever, our Halloween gathering was all treats and no tricks (HR made sure of that). But unlike most other workplace gatherings, JoVE has been known to throw down quite a mean party! Well not “mean” per se- HR makes sure of that, too- but pretty darn spectacular.
We were joined by some familiar faces, including childhood favorites like Calvin & Hobbes and the Big Bad Wolf. Supposedly Waldo was at the party too, but no one could find him. Also in attendance were the most dynamic of duos: Crockett & Tubbs from Miami Vice, and Tina Fey & Amy Poehler from Weekend Update. Washed-up has-beens like Chuck Norris, Bill Clinton, Gallagher, and an undead Foxy Brown helped offset the warm and fuzzies provided by the CocaCola bear and a forest fairy. Also present: some sushi?
It should come as no surprise that the winningest costumes at our very science-focused company were completely nerdy: Link from Legends of Zelda took second place while the gold went to a stunningly interstellar Ms. Frizzle.
