The 2022 JoVE Research Innovation awards aim to support and recognize creative uses of JoVE videos to conduct research and training or share knowledge outside the physical laboratory. Three winners will be confirmed globally. JoVE will provide funding, in the form of reimbursement, for professional development up to $2,000 USD per winner in the form of reimbursement for professional development and to publish your methods with JoVE free of charge. Preference will be given to submissions that provide strong evidence of increased lab productivity, exposure to your lab, or saving time and resources. Meet the Independent Panel of Judges
Dr. Yee Lian Chew, Research Fellow, Flinders University, Australia
Dr. Chew is an early-career researcher and an emerging leader in cellular neuroscience using the Caenorhabditis elegans model organism. Dr. Chew was awarded an NHMRC Investigator Grant 2020 (EL1) and Rebecca L Cooper Project Grant 2020. She is currently Chair of the Australian Academy of Science EMCR Forum Executive. “The JoVE Research Innovation Award 2022 celebrates creativity and impact using video platforms to share research knowledge. Anything that improves fairness, equity and inclusion for the scientific community will lead to more groundbreaking and impactful science. Dr. Carlos C. Goller, Associate Teaching Professor, North Carolina State University
Dr. Goller received his Ph.D. in Microbiology and Molecular Genetics from Emory University. He is an editorial member of many academic journals and has co-authored 40+ publications. Apart from his research interest in molecular microbiology and metagenomics, he is also interested in teaching with technology and the scholarship of teaching and learning. “JoVE has allowed me to bring new ideas, research, and equipment into the course discussions. As an educator and Mexican American scientist, I am excited to learn about the innovative ways researchers use JoVE to advance their research and share impactful science.”
Dr. Margaret Saha, Chancellor Professor, College of William and Mary
Dr. Saha is a molecular developmental biologist. Her NIH-funded research focuses on the genetic mechanisms that control the development of the brain, significantly ‘how embryos can recover from an injury effectively.’ Dr. Saha has served as the Director of the William and Mary HHMI Undergraduate Science Education Grant and as the faculty advisor to the W&M iGEM team. Her various awards include a Presidential Faculty Fellowship, Virginia Outstanding Faculty Award and becoming a AAAS Fellow.
