In comparison to other methods using electric- or cryo-induced injury, mechanical-induced injury mimics the human condition of restenosis after revascularization therapies and is ideal for the study of the molecular mechanisms involved. Medicine The Rigid Tube as an Alternative in Controlling the Problematic Airway Ioan Florin Marchis1, Doinel Radeanu2, Sever Pop2, Alexandra Pop1, Marcel Cosgarea2 1Department of Anesthesiology, Iuliu Hatieganu University of Medicine and Pharmacy, 2Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Iuliu Hatieganu University of Medicine and Pharmacy Presented here is a protocol of tracheal intubation over an intubating tube introducer using a rigid tube for laryngoscopy with an attached light source. The main characteristics of this maneuver are the retromolar approach and the use of the thyroid cartilage as a landmark while advancing the rigid tube.
