ODELAY: A Large-scale Method for Multi-parameter Quantification of Yeast Growth Thurston Herricks1, Fred D. Mast1,2, Song Li1, John D. Aitchison1,2 1Institute for Systems Biology, 2Center for Infectious Disease Research We present a method for quantifying growth phenotypes of individual yeast cells as they grow into colonies on solid media using time-lapse microscopy termed, One-cell Doubling Evaluation of Living Arrays of Yeast (ODELAY). Population heterogeneity of genetically identical cells growing into colonies can be directly observed and quantified.

Specific short peptides derived from Nef and protein transfection were exploited to determine the structure, function, and binding partners of Nef’s Secretion Modification Region. These procedures have general relevance in many mechanistic studies.
