Insights into the coexistence of two mutations in the same LHCGR gene locus causing severe Leydig cell hypoplasia.
Hormones (Athens)
PUBLISHED: 08-01-2014

Hide Abstract
Leydig cell hypoplasia is a rare autosomal recessive condition that interferes with the normal development of male external genitalia in 46,XY individuals. It is mediated by mutations in the lutropin/choriogonadotropin receptor gene, resulting in the impairment of either the binding of hormone or signal transduction.

To demonstrate that adequate pubertal history, physical examination, and a basal hormone profile is sufficient to exclude disorders of sexual development (DSD) in adult transsexuals and that chromosomal analysis could be omitted in cases of unremarkable hormonal profile and pubertal history.

Comparative cohort studies are often conducted to identify novel therapeutic strategies or prognostic factors for ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP). We aimed to evaluate the power of such studies to provide clinically and statistically significant conclusions with regard to mortality differences.

What is Visualize?

JoVE Visualize is a tool created to match the last 5 years of PubMed publications to methods in JoVE's video library.

How does it work?

We use abstracts found on PubMed and match them to JoVE videos to create a list of 10 to 30 related methods videos.

Video X seems to be unrelated to Abstract Y...

In developing our video relationships, we compare around 5 million PubMed articles to our library of over 4,500 methods videos. In some cases the language used in the PubMed abstracts makes matching that content to a JoVE video difficult. In other cases, there happens not to be any content in our video library that is relevant to the topic of a given abstract. In these cases, our algorithms are trying their best to display videos with relevant content, which can sometimes result in matched videos with only a slight relation.
