Dr Danilo Cimadomo, MSc, PhD

Danilo Cimadomo is the scientific coordinator of the G.en.e.r.a. centers for reproductive medicine.

He received his BSc and MSc degrees at the University of Pavia in “Medical Biotechnologies” and “Molecular Biology and Genetics”, and its PhD at the University of Rome “Sapienza” in “Morphogenesis and Tissue Engineering”.

After two internships at the University of Pavia and at the University of Cambridge, he started working at G.en.e.r.a. where he contributed to the implementation of a qPCR-based aneuploidy testing strategy for blastocyst stage PGT in collaboration with the Genetyx laboratory.

His research is focused on the methods for embryo selection in IVF, for which he was awarded with several prizes by the SIFES (Italian society of fertility and sterility).

He is reviewer for several international journals in reproductive medicine, member of the scientific committee of the SIERR (Italian society of embryology, research and reproduction), member of an ESHRE (European society of human reproduction and embryology) working group for the new guidelines for human embryo biopsy, and basic science officer of the ESHRE special interest group (SIG) “Implantation and early pregnancy”.

He is author of more than 40 papers in peer-reviewed journals and book chapters
