Pak Elena Pak is a Research Specialist in the Department of Physiology, East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina. She received her Bachelor with honor degree and Master in Physiology from Almaty State University in Kazakhstan. She was trained later in Melbourne University, Australia studying beta-adrenoceptor pharmacology in heart using autoradiography technique and then in Columbia University, New York studying physiological function of beta-2 adrenergic receptors in the neonatal and adult rat ventricular myocytes. She then moved to East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina where she continued her research at Dr. A. Murashov’s laboratory focusing on studying of microRNAs role in transgenerational effect of diets and exercise on offspring susceptibility to neurological and metabolic disorders using genomic, proteomic approaches as well as genetically manipulated Drosophila and mouse models.
