Francesca Boscolo Sesillo is a postdoctoral fellow in the Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences Department, University of California San Diego School of Medicine. She received her PhD from Sanford Burnham Prebys Medical Discovery Institute in La Jolla.

During her pre-doctoral training in Dr. Jeanne Loring and Dr. Louise Laurent laboratories, Dr. Boscolo became interested in pluripotent stem cells and the genomic and transcriptional changes occurring in these cells during cellular reprogramming and culture. As a graduate student in Dr. Alessandra Sacco laboratory, she centered her attention on muscle stem cells, and their role in muscular dystrophy and tumor development.

Dr. Boscolo is now a postdoctoral fellow in Dr. Marianna Alperin Lab where she is investigating the role of muscle stem cells in pelvic floor muscles during pregnancy.
