Juan C. Durán-Álvarez

Juan C. Durán-Álvarez is a chemical engineer, holding a PhD in environmental engineering. He works three main research lines, namely: a) the occurrence and environmental fate of emerging pollutants in the environment, b) the development and characterization of nanosized semiconductors and their use as photocatalysts; and, c) the removal of emerging pollutants from water via the heterogeneous photocatalysis process. Dr. Durán-Álvarez has worked in these topics throughout his 6 years of scientific career and is looking for expanding his horizons by studying the effects of nanomaterials as emerging pollutants. He has worked with international organizations as the International Water Association and the UNESCO International Hydrological Program.
