Marco van Ham

Marco van Ham is a senior scientist at the Cellular Proteome Resarch Group from Prof. Lothar Jänsch at the Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research in Braunschweig / Germany. He received his undergraduate and a Ph.D. from the Medical University of Nijmegen / the Netherlands.

Marco van Ham is trained as a cell biologist with a focus on signalling pathways (tyrosine kinases and phosphatases) and microtubule dynamics (tubulin post-transational modifications). As a PostDoc (Medical University Rotterdam / the Netherlands), Marco van Ham, studied microtubule dynamics on a single cell level, using both cell lines as well as primary neuronal cells. In his recent position as senior scientist (HZI, Braunschweig / Germany), he now is mainly involved in spatial ex vivo recognition of host / pathogen interacions using high resolution mass spectromety and laser dissection microscopy.
