He received his undergraduate degree from Peking University, Beijing, China and a Ph.D. from Duke University, USA.Dr. Zhang’s research interest has been focused on T lymphocytes. As a post-doctoral fellow (2008 to 2014) in Dr. Michael Bevan’s lab at University of Washington, Seattle, he studied the roles of transforming growth factor-beta during the differentiation of effector and memory CD8+ T cells. In 2014, Dr. Zhang was recruited as faculty at UT Health San Antonio. He continues to study CD8+ T cells in health and diseases. Publications Gastrointestinal Coinfection Promotes Chlamydial Pathogenicity in the Genital Tract Infection and Immunity.
