Ph.D candidate

I am a Ph.D. Candidate in Neural Regenerative Medicine, Graduate Institute of Neural Regenerative Medicine, Taipei Medical University, Taipei, Taiwan. I received my first M.Sc. degree in Molecular Medical Biology from Orebro University in 2011, and an M.Sc.degree in Medicine from Orebro University in 2014.

My research focuses on developing gene therapy and stem cell therapy for brain injuries and disorders. As a Ph.D student (2016 to 2019) in Kai-Yun Chen’s lab at the Graduate Institute of Neural Regenerative Medicine, Taipei Medical University, and with collaboration with Prof. De-Maw Chuang 's lab at National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), National Institutes of Health (NIH) at Bethesda, Maryland, I studied the roles of fibroblast growth factor 21 (FGF21) on neural regeneration and brain plasticity using genetically engineered mesenchymal stem cells as vehicles for FGF21 delivery to injury site in the brain of murine model of traumatic brain injury (TBI) and stroke.
