Rebecca Smith is a Research Associate in the Oregon Health and Science University Center for Spatial Systems Biomedicine and part of the Department of Biomedical Engineering. She graduated summa cum laude with her undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and received her Master’s degree from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor.

Her current research focuses on the tumor microenvironment and uses cell lines and primary cells to interrogate the role of microenvironmental perturbations in the progression of cancer.
