Uri Tasch

Uri Tasch is an Emeritus Professor of Mechanical Engineering at University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) and President and founder of Step Analysis, LLC. He received his B.Sc. from the Technion in Haifa Israel, M.Sc. from Illinois Institute of Technology, and Ph.D. from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Dr. Tasch’s research focused on Control, Design and Automation and he has studied and characterized the gait of four legged animals as well as humans. These gait studies lead to the development of a sensory technology that detects gait abnormalities due to either lameness in Bovine and Equine; or detects gait abnormalities due to neurodegenerative diseases, such as ALS and Parkinson, in laboratory rodents.

Dr. Tasch authored two books that address Bovine lameness as well as patents and journal articles that address detection of gait abnormalities due to neurological diseases. During his academic career Dr Tasch received university teaching and research awards.
