As medical doctoral student in the Lab of Magdalena Götz, he studied the extracellular microenvironment in the neurogenic subependymal zone (SEZ) and non-neurogenic brain regions, using mice as a model organism, to contribute to a better understanding of the influence of the microenvironment on stem cell survival.Christian Friess holds a scholarship of the German National Academic Foundation.
