Wiktoria Gocal

Wiktoria Gocal is a medical student at the Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, PA. She received her undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences from Drexel University and plans to graduate in 2023.

Joining the Reginato lab during her first year as an undergraduate student, Wiktoria developed an interest in research of metabolic pathways in breast cancer. As a Students Tackling Advanced Research (STAR) Program student she studied the role of O-GlcNAcylation control of lipid metabolism in breast cancer. Here she learned immunofluorescent and immunohistochemistry staining techniques, which she then applied to staining breast and brain tissue.

While currently still pursuing her MD, Wiktoria plans to incorporate research as part of her future medical career. She is grateful for all of the friendships, fond memories and all that she learned during her 6 years as a member of the Reginato lab.
